Giang Coffee

Being one of the oldest coffee brands in Hanoi, the shop was founded by Mr. Giang, a former bartender at the famous hotel Metropole during the French war. The Egg Coffee recipe was inspired from a Cappuccino drink. The strong taste of coffee, rich taste of the egg yolk, and the sweet taste of condensed milk, all have helped create a soothing flavour for the drink. The shop has an ancient vibe and cozy ambiance, but the location is a little tricky as the entrance is small and not noticeable.

Address: 39 Nguyen Huu Huan Street, Old Quarter, Hanoi.

Dinh Coffee

Dinh Coffee is located upstairs of a two storeys old French villa. To reach the shop, first you have to go through a shop selling bags then an old staircase.

Dinh Coffee’s owner, Ms. Bich, is the daughter of Mr. Giang so the coffee taste still remains as its first form. What is different is the bold taste thanks to the cocoa heated up and whisked with the egg. Here, you can enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the beauty of the nearby Hoan Kiem Lake.

Pho Co Coffee

The taste of Egg Coffee here is also good and distinct but the price is nearly a double than the previous ones. Instead, you can find it interesting to sit inside an old architecture ancient tile rooftop and enjoy the calm view of Hoan Kiem Lake from the balcony.

Address: 11 Hang Gai Street, Old Quarter, Hanoi

Cong Caphe

Cong is busy creating a cafe empire in Hanoi. When we started writing this they had six locations and by the time we finished it they had ten. Luckily, their drinks are great at all locations and their communist-era concrete walled minimalist decor is actually quite comfy in its own way. This location is a popular spot to hang out in the evenings.

Hanoi Social Club

Hanoi Social Club is a great spot with multiple floors of different spaces and plenty of room to relax and hang out for a while. Good place to get some work done or just enjoy a coffee in a hipster hangout. It’s no secret that we have an affinity for rooftops so, naturally, we like to head to the third floor terrace and have an egg coffee in the plant-filled oasis overlooking street life below.

Address: Hoi Vu, Hang Bong, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
